I met the conductor of this choir through a friend who sings in it. The conductor was very happy for me to come along and sketch whilst they practised. So I got a free concert as I sketched! Pretty good value really. I've been invited back to paint in oils. I was using a mid-tone pastel paper, white conte crayon for highlights and black carre pastel - which is more or less the same as conte crayon. Very simple, clean, quick and convenient way of sketching. In the next blog I'll include a sample of the sound, which I recorded for a short time.
